The Maple Hills Homeowners' Association is always seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join our growing list of vital committees: the Budget Committee, Communication Committee, the Landscape Committee, and the Architectural Covenant Changes (ACC). These committees play an integral role in maintaining and improving the financial the aesthetics, functionality, and communication within our neighborhood. We invite you to get involved in any or all of these committees, and we believe your contributions will significantly benefit the community.
1. Budget Committee: as part of the Maple Hills Budget Committee you would be responsible for reviewing and overseeing the financial aspects of the community. This should really take no longer than 1-hour a month and the this committee can ask any direct questions to the board during our monthly meeting, tasks typically will include:
Budget Review: Reviewing the annual budget for the HOA, which covers expected income (e.g., dues) and expenses (e.g., maintenance, landscaping, repairs, insurance). They review previous budgets, assess future needs, and ensure the Board is creating a balanced proposal.
Financial Forecasting: Help estimate future financial needs, review the reserve study budget in anticipation of major repairs or improvements. Including planning for unexpected expenses or large upcoming projects.
Dues Assessment: Reviewing the HOA’s income from dues and assessing if adjustments are needed to meet the community's needs.
Expense Monitoring: Monitoring current expenditures to ensure they align with the approved budget and identifying any overspending or cost savings opportunities.
Reserve Fund Management: Ensuring adequate reserve funds are in place for major repairs, emergencies, or unexpected expenses.
Financial Reporting: Providing transparent financial updates to the HOA board and community members. Which helps keep everyone informed about how funds are being allocated and any financial issues.
Recommendations to the Board: Offering guidance on financial matters, such as prioritizing projects based on available resources, or whether there’s a need for special assessments.
The Board of Directors is committed to maintaining transparency, financial stability, and ensuring we meet our current and future obligations to preserve and enhance our wonderful community.
2. Communication Committee: This committee is responsible for ensuring effective communication among our residents. Your involvement can help in coordinating community events, managing our neighborhood's online presence, and promoting a sense of togetherness among our residents. If you have excellent communication and organizational skills, we would be delighted to have you on board.
Communications Committee would consist of 1-2 hours per month:
Updating the HOA Website
Creating the Monthly Newsletter using topics designated by the Board
Creating Facebook Content, if needed
Creating emails to communicate with the community to be distributed by Windermere
3. Landscape Committee: If you have a green thumb and a passion for maintaining the natural beauty of our neighborhood, the Landscape Committee is the perfect place for you. This committee would be a group of neighbors that the Board could reach out to help with a neighbor’s landscape and lawncare during extenuating circumstances. The Board would also like to use this committee as a voice as people have asked to update their lawns away from the current norm. The Landscape Committee time would vary depending on neighborhood need, but could include:
Tree Planting Drives: Organize community tree-planting events to enhance curb appeal and reduce long-term landscaping costs.
Fence Staining Days: Coordinate groups of volunteers to stain and maintain fences, protecting them from weather damage and extending their lifespan.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor Assistance: Encourage neighbors to help each other with yard maintenance, minor repairs, and seasonal clean-up efforts.
Providing tips and tricks for lawn maintenance
Mowing the grass of a neighbor who is temporarily unable
Shoveling the snow
4. Architectural Covenant Changes (ACC) Committee: The ACC is crucial in preserving and enhancing the architectural harmony of our community. If you have an eye for detail and an interest in maintaining the aesthetic appeal of Maple Hills, we invite you to join this committee.
The Board is looking to add a few more members to the ACC committee which would consist of about 1-3 hours per month, with an increase during the summer months
Familiarize yourself with current CC&R and Rules and Regulations
Read and review all ACC request
Give Approval or Rejection based on current standards
