Recent Board Activity
The Board has met almost weekly since we were elected. As a new Board, we have felt overwhelmed at times by the demands. Some of the items and issues we have discussed include the following:
In our effort to learn and understand our new roles, we have met with some members of our community who have served on boards in the past to gain insights.
We have responded to a community notice about the construction of the Maple Hills V development, stating our interest and concerns about the impact of the development on our own community.
We have developed and distributed our first and second newsletter and survey.
We have defined requirements for an HOA website.
We spoke with Lennar about the various issues and items left unfinished when they moved out of the community.
We have retained a new attorney.
We have reviewed and approved several ACC requests.
We understand and have interpreted the various governing documents, including the CCR.
We have met with Cascade Landscaping to level-set expectations.
We got the irrigation system fixed.
We ordered new bark for the common areas. We interpreted the community survey.
We talked the City into maintaining the areas outside our fences that adjoin their property. We contacted local Law Enforcement and Fire Departments about random community drive- throughs.
And we have managed to maintain our own life interests during this challenging time.
If any community members are interested in observing our meetings, please reach out to us at maplehillswahoa@gmail.com for a schedule.
